The country's biggest pageantry of sights, sounds, and colorful festival in the Philippines are about to come. The Sinulog Festival, Viva Pit Señor!
The Sinulog Festival entails two major activities: the religious procession on Saturday and the grand street parade on the following day. This is the Filipino tradition to join the annual procession in Cebu the celebration in honor of Sr. Sto.Niño. Im always asking myself why millions of Filipino joins the procession of Sr. Sto.Niño and some of his devotees coming from different regions and some coming from a far provinces of Cebu? What does Sr. Sto. Niño has, why many people attending his exhausted procession?
Last Saturday, January 14,2012 was the procession of the patron saint of Cebu, Sr.Sto. Niño or the child Jesus. Millions of pilgrims and devotees of Sto. Niño flock the streets going to the Basilica bringing with candles and rosaries while waving their hands and singing "Batobalani sa gugma". Many people ignored the excruciating heat of the sun and spaciousness street .They sacrifice to come into the city to witness the child Jesus, Sr. Sto. Niño. Parishioners from different parishes, business sectors, colleges and universities, government officials, archdiocesan organizations and all sectors in the Cebuano community, including group of friends, families and relatives join together in honoring the patron saint.

Millions of Filipinos believe that Sr. Sto. Niño is a miraculous child that their hopes in life are answered by joining the solemn procession and by raising and waving their hands while singing “Batobalani sa Gugma.”
